Dear 4th Grade Families:
The students have been working so hard learning all of our new routines and procedures. They have been great role models for all students in our building with showing how we can be responsible, respectful, and safe! So many of our 4th graders have earned Sparks Tickets to be entered into the schoolwide bingo board drawings! Keep up the great work!
Since it is starting to "cool" off, it looks like we won't need water bottles at our desk (unless one is needed for medical reasons and a student has a note). We will send out a Remind.com message if this changes!
In Language Arts, the students all received their first vocabulary/spelling lists. There are several differents list that the students have based on where they scored on the diagnostic test given earlier in the week. There are students with orange, indigo(purple), and green groups. Each student has glued into their assignment notebooks the words for the first unit of study. Our first vocabulary test will be FRIDAY AUGUST 28th! The students will be tested on the spelling of these words using Spelling City on Friday September 4th. We practiced our Reading Logs this week which are also due on Friday and talked about Book Tweets which are due at the end of the quarter. See the Language Arts update page for more information about these projects.
In Social Studies, we are going to be wrapping up our mapping unit. The kids will be taking a test on FRIDAY AUGUST 28th which will be covering cardinal and intermediate directions, Ohio's relative location to other states, and map scale. There will be no study guide for this first test, all preparation will be completed in class.
In Math, We are working on place value of numbers through the millions. We are reviewing addition and subtraction.
Please review addition and subtraction facts.
