Dear 4th Graders and Parents:
We hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving Break with family and friends! These next few weeks will be VERY busy for the 4th graders. The quarter ends on December 22nd! There are many assignments and projects that are coming up and we are encouraging the students to stay focused and keep their effort up!
In language arts, we are starting our Poetry Unit! The students will have a Poetry Slam on December 22nd! The students will be selecting any poem of their choice and completing the poetry outline that can be found here as well as a practice checklist. The Poetry Slam Project must be completed by December 18th. We will have our Poetry Slam Presentations and Celebration on December 21st in class. There will NOT be a reading log due this Friday December 4th. Reading logs will resume the following week and will be due on December 11th. As a friendly reminder, book tweets are due December 14th! This week is a Flocabulary Week. We will have test on Friday.
In math, extra credit was sent home before Thanksgiving Break. It is due on December 2nd- NO EXCEPTIONS! We are finishing up our unit on division and our test will be coming up soon. Study guides will be sent home at a later date.
In science, we are working on ecosystems and food webs. The students are making food webs in class this week. There will be a test on Friday December 4th with a completed study guide coming home on Wednesday. Be sure to study.
The Timeline Project for social studies is due this Friday December 4th. If you need supplies or paper, have your child see Mrs. Criswell as soon as possible. Be sure that your child follows the project guidelines and requirements!
Thank you for all of your support!
Mrs. Dooley Mrs. Criswell Mrs. Townsley
